AUL CHALLENGE
Russia | 93 mins | [U] – 2023
“Aul challenge” is a story about a wayward urban teenager Timur (11 years old), who makes a bet with his father and goes to the village to his strict grandfather, with whom his father has not communicated for many years. In the village, everything seems terrible to Timur: the lack of the Internet, a stern grandfather, hostile peers led by Myrzabek, and even the girl Asya he likes reproaches him for not knowing his native language. Fortunately, Timur has a witty friend named Bubble, who becomes a kind of guide to this unfriendly world of the village. Seeking Asya’s favor, Timur not only opposes Myrzabek, but also decides to learn horseback riding – after all, every worthy man should be able to do it. In this undertaking, Timur is unexpectedly supported by his grandfather. He takes over his training and offers to participate in the races. Timur laughs at this idea, but gradually learns that the upcoming races are of great importance for his grandfather. Timur quickly manages to master horse riding, but on the eve of the race, his mother comes to take him back to the city. When preparing to leave, Timur finds out the real reason for the conflict between his father and grandfather, which is directly related to horse racing. And now he understands that he not only cannot leave, but must win.
This is a story about how the boy Timur becomes a real, albeit very young, but still a man! This story is about the importance of the family, about the fact that we must forgive and support each other!
