IIFF SIFFA UK Red Carpet movie gala awards at the prestigious Oscar Mayfair:  A CELEBRATION OF ANDREI TARKOVSKY

The Independent International Film Festival and Awards (SIFFA) organisers have today announced that It’s cinematic showpiece will run from 21 to 28 November 2022 in London at the splendid EVERYMAN CINEMA BOROUGH YARDS (LONDON BRIDGE) SE1 9PA.

SIFFA President and Founder Luba Balagova Kandour said in London today: “There are filmmakers who break all boundaries. They overcome borders like travelling birds and never ask anyone for permission to grant them a visa, reconciling people and nations. They get this right thanks to their genius to unite people of any races and countries because of their recognition as the world’s greatest artists.

As a festival this is what we do, we bring people together, we help to reunite them, because nothing can be more important nowadays than promoting peace and bringing people together, making more space for mutual understanding.

I feel that our mission today is to work even harder to radically improve people’s moods towards building peace bridges through the language of cinema and art”.

The cinematic celebration of Andrei Tarkovsky, who could have turned 90 years old earlier this year, had he lived, will take place at EVERYMAN CINEMA BOROUGH YARDS (LONDON BRIDGE) SE1 9PA on the following dates:

Monday, November 21, 19:00 – IVAN’S CHILDHOOD

Tuesday, November 22, 19:00  – THE MIRROR

Monday, November 28, 19:00 – ANDREY RUBLEV

The screenings will be held with the participation of the SIFFA team lead by its president Luba Balagova-Kandour, who will present the films.

The Hollywood veteran Mohy Kandour (Quandour) will share his memories about Andrei Tarkovsky.

Every screening will start with the reception and networking with drinks on arrival in the cinema’s lounge.

The SIFFA UK November 2022 Programme and Awards Gala is Andrey Tarkovsky cinematic celebration in the UK, specially adapted with a red-carpet Gala showcase at prestigious OSCARS Mayfair, presenting the November SIFFA’s independent film festival Honour Awards of the year.
